Hailed as “superb” by the San Francisco Classical Voice, Alex Granger has premiered numerous works as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician, working directly with some of the world’s foremost musicians and composers. Alex is a founding member of the Webern Quartet and recently performed the complete Arnold Schoenberg String Quartets as part of a week long residency at the Arnold Schoenberg Center in Vienna. The quartet then went on to record the complete Schoenberg quartets in Germany in the summer of 2024. Alex’s chamber music performances have been featured on NPR and in the New Yorker, and he has recorded on labels such as Telos and Warner Classics. During his time as a student at the University of Southern California, Alex had the honor of studying with Henry Gronnier, Bing Wang, and Midori Goto. Aside from performing, Alex teaches at the Colburn School of Performing Arts and his hobbies include going on runs and playing fetch with his dog, Ella.
