Violinist Muyan Yang has been highly praised for her captivating musical expression and depth. She has performed throughout The United States and Asia, including the concert for the first ladies of China and Finland in 2019 in Beijing, Keshet Eilon Gala concert in New York, winners concert in the Philharmonic Hall of Liège in Belgium, Colburn Chamber Music Society concerts in Zipper Hall, Los Angeles. Muyan won the Third Prize in the 2023 Ysaÿe International Music Competition in Liège, Belgium; semifinalist at the 2023 (GMEL) China International Music Competition; and is the winner of the 2022 International Mozart Competition Vienna.

She is the recipient of the 2023 Dr. Bennett Levine Memorial Award in Chamber Music, and the 2022 Anna Y. Tringas Award for Violin, which “Recognizes an Exceptional Violinist” at Cleveland Institute of Music; where she also received Honorable Mention for the 2022 concerto competition. Recently, she won the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra mock audition at Colburn Conservatory, where she just joined the concertmaster pool. She has also been invited to play with the LA Opera regularly and has appeared in the Street Symphony founded by artistic director Vijay Gupta. Muyan is actively involved in the Ziering- Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voice at The Colburn School, she was the concertmaster under the Baton of Maestro James Conlon in the recent recording projects in 2024.

A passionate chamber musician, Muyan has shared stages with artists such as Ilya Kaler, Tatjana Masurenko, Phillip Setzer, Ray Chen, Arnaud Sussmann, Louis Lortie, Izhak Rashkovsky, Rohan De Silva, and among others.

Muyan is a student of Martin Beaver at Colburn Conservatory, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Ilya Kaler and Olga Kaler.
